Pass the Mic, Share the Power: Practices for Power-Sharing in Youth Ministry [Pre-Conference Intensive]

$50.00

Too often in youth ministry, youth are offered leadership positions without the effect of real change. This pre-conference intensive workshops is for leaders who are ready to dive deeper toward power-sharing that transforms both young people and the church.

In this 3-hour pre-conference intensive, you’ll gain practical tools to reimagine how youth in your midst are not just participants, but can create real change and lead your community. We’ll explore a justice-centered, collaborative method and spend time using it to address real concerns in your context in order to work with youth to take action on what matters most to them.

Guided by Dr. Sarah Leer, whose doctoral work brings together queer theology, practical theology, liberative pedagogy, and anti-colonial thought, this session will challenge the status quo. You’ll learn how affirming youth, examining power dynamics, and centering marginalized voices can unlock new energy and purpose in your ministry.

Come ready to collaborate, create, and be stretched.

You’ll leave with:

  • Practical strategies for power-sharing, including tools to analyze who holds authority in your ministry and ways to shift it toward collaboration.

  • A plan tailored to your own context for addressing a pressing issue with youth through shared action.

  • A network of fellow leaders committed to ministries where young people lead with confidence, courage, and power.

This pre-conference intensive workshop meets from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM on THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 13. Exact meetup location and other details will be sent approximately two weeks prior to the conference.
